Collegiate Sports

We have a close relationship with the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and have hosted the SEC Baseball Tournament since 1998, six of the recent SEC Gymnastics Championships (2001-2003, 2006, 2011, 2014), and the SEC Women’s Golf Championships since 2013. Our contracts with both the SEC Baseball and Women’s Golf Championships are contracted to stay in Alabama through 2016.

ASF/BET played an integral role in relocating the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Office from New Orleans to Birmingham in 1999, and hosted the SWAC Championship Football Game from 1999-2006. We also manage the Magic City Classic, which has been the most well-attended black college football game in the country 8 out of the last 9 years!

The Collegiate and Amateur Sports division worked with the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the NCAA to host the 2011 and 2012 NCAA Men's College Cup Soccer National Championship at The Met in Hoover, AL. In 2014 the Collegiate and Amateur Sports division teamed up with the University of Alabama to manage the NCAA Gymnastics Championship. All 3 of these NCAA Championships set attendance records in their respective sports.

The Bruno Event Team’s Collegiate and Amateur Sports Division also worked with the CrossFit Games in California from 2010-2015. The CrossFit Games are the world’s premier test to find the Fittest on Earth™. They are world-renowned as a grueling test for the world’s toughest athletes and a thrilling experience for spectators. Since its inception in 2007, the CrossFit Games have become “one of the fastest growing sports in America according to Forbes.
